We are delighted to introduce you to our newest offering: Private Adventures with Mountain Travel Sobek. Our Private Adventures are a series of incredible itineraries designed especially for small groups, whether it be families, couples, or treasured friends, who enjoy the thrill of traveling on their own and the independence and flexibility of a private trip, but desire the peace of mind that comes from having everything perfectly arranged for them.

These new trips offer a tremendous amount of variety that best reflects your chosen destination and provides as much of a local experience as possible:

• Travel to destinations ranging from the exotic to the more familiar, from the far reaches of the Himalaya to the plains of Africa, from the untrammeled beauty of Myanmar to the magical cloud forests of the Andes

These selected trips are ideal for reunions with family or old friends, a great way to celebrate a milestone birthday or anniversary - and can you imagine a more exotic honeymoon? Private Departure - Existing MTS Trip

For more than 35 years we have worked on putting together itineraries that will showcase the best of the destinations we visit and grant you with an adventure of a life time. For most of our adventures you can either take over an already scheduled departure or pick a date that fits you and your group and we'll set up the trip. Please note that the cost for a private departure will be similar to or greater than regularly scheduled departures for the same destinations. No development fee will be charged for a private trip using an existing MTS itinerary. So, all you need to do is get your group together, pick an adventure from our website (or catalog), then contact us and we'll take it from there. We've celebrated family birthdays on our deluxe Galápagos cruises and guided friend and family reunions on climbs of Kilimanjaro. We've led the World Presidents Organization biking through Provence and treks and tours in Nepal and Tibet for the American Himalayan Foundation and the Seva Foundation.

Create Your Own Dream Trip

If you prefer to create your own itinerary for the trip of your dreams, we'll do our best to make it happen. Just note that creating a custom itinerary and confirming availability with hotels, guides, etc. will generally take longer than if you book one of our existing trips. Therefore, as soon as you have an idea of where you would like to go and what you would like to do, please contact us so we can start the planning process. Please also note that for customized trips, there is a $300-$1000 non-refundable development fee to be paid upon receipt of our initial proposal (including sketch itinerary, costs and timeframe). This fee is fully applicable to the cost of the trip.
