Uzbekistan & Turkmenistan Silk Road Cultural Discovery, 2024

The Silk Road trip was fantastic! Sobek’s itinerary – with so many cultural experiences as well as the historic sites – was outstanding. We loved going several places in Turkmenistan (vs most operators who just go to Ashgabat). What a crazy country! Guides and hotels were excellent too. And the transportation was great – trains and roomy bus. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the trip, with detail to follow. Thanks for all the attention to detail by you and everyone at Mt. Sobek.

Nepal Everest Base Camp Trek, 2024

“We just got a home a couple days ago from the Everest Base Camp trek and I wanted to provide you with some feedback.  Yes, it truly was a trip of a lifetime.  Lhakpa and his team on the trail were all fabulous.  He has done this so many times that he has certainly refined the itinerary in so many ways.  We especially appreciated his careful choice of places to stay, combined with well-planned departure times, to avoid – as much as possible – the ever-increasing crowds headed to base camp. We all made it to both base camp and to the top of Kala Patthar (18,500’). Thank you for all you did to coordinate this trip and make our experience so wonderful.  I will continue to sing the praises of MT Sobek whenever possible.”

“The Everest Base Camp Trek features breathtaking views, challenging but beautiful hikes, and a better view and understanding the lives and culture of the Sherpa people. Our guide took amazing care of us to guarantee our enjoyment, comfort and safety while teaching us about the mountain, the expeditions, and the people who spend their lives there. The Everest Base Camp Trek was the destination but the journey there was the adventure. Summiting Kala Patar and the views from the top were the whipped cream and cherry on top. Not for the faint of heart but an amazing time and challenge.”

Botswana Classic Private Safari & Custom Cape Town Tour, 2024

Clay and I arrived home this morning and I could not wait to tell you how wonderful everything was on this trip!  We commented daily to each other on what an amazing job you did listening to us and then organizing a perfect combination of camps. The MT Sobek team also set us up with a wonderful guide named Chris Hannival for a full day touring the Cape Peninsula and another day touring the Winelands.  As far as the lodges, each one was different and special in its own way. And at Moremi, we had Baba!  That in itself was very special!”

Chile & Argentina Ultimate Patagonia Hiking Tour, 2024

“It is impossible to simply see Patagonia.  It demands that you experience it with all of your senses.  A zig zag between Chile and Argentina, Patagonia is a wonder of nature, and our only job was to walk it in gratitude…”I knew that I would always carry their spirit from this experience we shared.  It was now part of my DNA.”

As I ready to depart from El Calafate, there are few words to describe the experience of the last 2 weeks. As Ro put it “my eyes are sore from all of the beauty”. But also, my heart is so warm and overflowing with gratitude for the experience that was made possible by you all.

Coming from a planning background, knowing the importance of details from small to big – you all exceeded any expectation or standard that I have experienced. There was never a beat skipped with white glove service at every turn. From finding us private viewing areas in what would be busy zones, to our luggage always being taken care of, to the dining and lodging accommodations – I do not think there was one detail that could have been done better.

A huge shout out to the entire team involved, as I know it takes a village. Office staff, guides, drivers – I feel like a piece of a very rad family. You have cultivated an incredible team with so much passion. This has been the trip of my lifetime and I cannot wait to boast about Mt. Sobek to any one and everyone that will listen 🥰

Botswana Private Safari Adventure, 2024

“We just left Botswana this morning and it was a pretty teary parting. We all got along so well and have not laughed so much in years! What a gem our guide is! We learned so much from him and he is adorable, thank you for the connection. I know we are having withdrawals, at least I am! Botsawana is an incredible country and I wish they’d use it as a model around the world! The people are so happy and gracious.”

Peru Inca Trail Trek Private Adventure

“Amazing trip on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Very well-organized with great support by our guide Manolo and the porters. Delicious meal prepped by our chef on the trail and we felt pampered (even in tents!) The restaurants were excellent and it was putting together the traditional Peruvian Panchamanca meal.”

— Sam P. MT Sobek Guest

“Phenomenal trip that is well-organized from the time we landed to when we left. Our guide, Manolo, and driver were a pleasure to be with. Level 4 trip is an appropriate description for this trip because it required us to be in good shape. The scenery, food, and the kindness of the the Peruvian people is something to be remembered. The Andes Mountains are some of the most beautiful in the world in what I’ve seen. Our chef on the campouts was excellent. Great variety of food daily. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.”
